A DIY Camping Wedding in Victoria

"Both Lucy and Alastair surpassed every expectation and we couldn’t be happier with the results."Mike + Mairéad

Mike + Mairéad – what can we say? Our lovely Irish friends had a very special wedding. A whole weekend of magical celebrations, held at a hidden away campsite in rural Victoria.

Dozens of mismatched and very basic cabins dotted throughout the trees; showers that need fires lit two hours prior for the water to be heated; open air log performance spaces… all of it utterly charming. Like every American summer camp in any coming-of-age movie you’ve ever seen.

We don’t have the words to describe how dream-like this day was.

“It’s so hard to find the words to express how we felt about our experience with Lucy and Alastair. They both have the rare ability to capture the magic and joy of an occasion with such ease. They picked up on all the small details, all the preparation and all the love… Nothing ever felt posed or staged and we were completely comfortable at all times. They were a delight to interact with before, during and after the wedding.

On the day, one of our favourite moments was when Lucy encouraged us to just be with each other. It was the time out that we needed to take everything in… we both cherished those intimate moments where we just looked at each other and shared the joy of what we had spent so long creating together.

Alastair was amazing. He got to capture everyone looking natural and in the moment. Most of our guests barely noticed him and yet he picked up on all the details, all the preparation, all of the emotion…. We were blown away when we watched it. It was truly magical. It allowed the romance of that day to live on.

Both Lucy and Alastair surpassed every expectation and we couldn’t be happier with the results.” – Mike + Mairéad.

"For our friends and family that didn’t make the wedding, the film meant so much. It allowed the romance of that day to live on. We were blown away when we watched it... It was truly magical."
